In this session, you’ll explore:

  • Why sustainability is a growing priority for today’s homeowners

  • Evidence-based design strategies that support wellness and comfort

  • Key sustainability concepts, including Climate Neutral vs. Carbon Neutral

  • What sustainable manufacturing practices look like in real life

  • How kitchen appliances and material choices can support a greener home

This training will help you confidently navigate sustainable design conversations with clients while creating homes that perform better—for people and the planet.

🍷 Session 2: Designing for the Wine Enthusiast

1 AIA Credit

This course explores how architects and designers can create residential spaces that enhance the wine experience—bringing the feeling of tasting rooms, country clubs, outdoor vineyards, and intimate dining spaces into the home.

Topics include:

  • Designing wine-centered spaces for comfort, luxury, and function

  • Accessibility and convenience considerations

  • Storage, display, lighting, and environmental controls

  • Creating immersive spaces for entertaining and relaxation

  • Designing for both serious collectors and casual wine lovers

About Speaker

Juanita Galliford, Architect & Design Builder Manager

Juanita came to B/S/H/ 10 years ago with over 20 years of Interior Design and Project Management experience. A graduate of KLC Design College in London, UK, she has designed projects for residential, commercial, and nautical clients as well as large-scale developers. Interfacing with architects, contractors, fabricators and regulatory agencies has gained her a vast knowledge of space planning and design leading to numerous magazine and newspaper publications. She has served on many boards and organizations in the design industry including Color Marketing Group where she was part of the color forecasting panel.
