Presented in partnership with Southern California Edison (SCE), LADWP, and AIA San Fernando Valley, this course explores how 2025 Title 24 energy code updates, evolving climate policy, and emerging building technologies are reshaping residential design toward all-electric construction.
Participants will learn why all-electric buildings are increasingly preferable to traditional dual-fuel systems—delivering improved performance, lower cost, enhanced safety, and better long-term outcomes for occupants and the environment. The course introduces the methodologies, systems, and technologies needed to convert conventional natural gas end uses to efficient electric alternatives.
Attendees will compare all-electric and dual-fuel designs using California energy modeling software, evaluate cost-effectiveness, and examine quality-of-life impacts. The instructors—both of whom designed and live in all-electric homes—will also demonstrate real-world applications, including induction cooking and heat pump water heating, streamed directly from their residences.
Learning Outcomes
