Join the Conversation: Architects, Local Government, and Community Partners in Action

Los Angeles County voters approved Measure M in 2016 with over 71% support β€” a bold commitment to building a more connected, resilient, and equitable transportation future. Funded through a half-cent sales tax, Measure M helps ease traffic, repair local streets and sidewalks, expand transit, retrofit bridges, and subsidize fares for students, seniors, and persons with disabilities.

This month’s Advocacy Pillar Meeting will explore how architects, engineers, and civic leaders can collaborate with LA Metro to advance design solutions that support this regional vision β€” from first/last mile connections to active transportation, community planning, and resilient infrastructure.

Why Attend

  • Learn how Measure M and Metro programs impact local design and development projects.

  • Discover opportunities to serve your community by joining the Independent Taxpayer Oversight Committee, ensuring transparency and accountability in Measure M funding.

  • Discuss ways our chapter can advocate for design excellence and equity in infrastructure investments.

Who Should Attend

Architects, engineers, designers, planners, public officials, and community-based partners passionate about building a better Los Angeles through design, advocacy, and civic collaboration.

About the Measure M Oversight Committee

The Independent Taxpayer Oversight Committee meets quarterly to:

  • Approve audit scopes and review findings.

  • Assess proposed debt financing for project acceleration and cost savings.

  • Review amendments to Measure M ordinances and expenditure plans.
Metro is currently accepting applications for new committee members β€” an opportunity to bring a design perspective to regional transportation planning.
