AIA SFV COTE Meeting Scheduled for March 2nd, 2010 at 6:00 pm 1 hour HSW CEU's
"Hot and Crowded - Where are we headed?"
On Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 6:00pm the AIA Cote committee presentation will discuss climate change projections for the world and for the Valley in particular.
Helen Cox will discuss the major issues we face in addressing our future needs. She will also focus on energy options and the degree to which our demands can be met with alternative energy.
Our speaker, Helen M. Cox is the Director of the new Institute for Sustainability at CSUN, and an associate professor in the Geography Department. She holds a PhD in atmospheric sciences from UCLA, an MS in computer science, and degrees in physics from Oxford. She teaches courses related to the atmosphere, climate change, remote sensing, and the environment. As director for the Sustainability Institute she is involved in coordinating projects and events on campus, and looking into new initiatives to make the campus more sustainable and educate students about sustainability.
